Slide
Shape the presentation deck (D14) from inside a report: keep a block out of the deck, add deck-only content, or speaker notes. Invisible on the page — a breakout inside it keeps its lane.

When to use
Every report also exports a presentation deck (D14), planned from the built page by rules. <Slide> is how an author shapes that deck from inside the MDX without touching the generated file: mode="skip" keeps a block on the page, in the PDF and in the HTML export but out of the deck (a detailed table, a long method note); mode="only" is deck-only content that takes the place of the section's prose on that slide (a takeaway line, three bullets); mode="notes" is speaker notes. Fix deck layout in packages/theme/src/deck.css, never with a Slide.
Keep a detailed table out of the deck
On the page the two wrappers render as their content and nothing else; in the deck the first block is absent and the second replaces the section's prose.
Code
<Slide mode="skip">
<Table id="tab-detail" width="wide" caption="Every station, every year." units="ppm" source="NOAA GML.">
| Station | 2024 | 2025 |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| Mauna Loa | 424.6 | 427.1 |
| South Pole | 421.2 | 423.9 |
</Table>
</Slide>
<Slide mode="only">
- One slide-length sentence for the audience.
</Slide>The wrapper is invisible on the page: a width="wide" or width="full" breakout inside it keeps its lane, and a figure or table inside it keeps the editorial rhythm — exactly as without the wrapper (issue #28). The live example below is that case, outside this box, in the page's own prose column.
A wide table inside a skip wrapper keeps its lane
This paragraph sits in the prose measure. The table that follows is authored width="wide" and wrapped in <Slide mode="skip">; it has three columns, so nothing but the authored width can widen it — it must reach the wide lane, and on a narrow screen it must scroll inside its own focusable container rather than push the page.
And this paragraph is back in the measure, one editorial space below the table — the same rhythm a table gets without the wrapper.

data-slide; print, the HTML export and the page hideonlyandnotes.
